Greetings all. I have become very interested of late with gathering information on the history of the land and all its myths and legends. I would like all to post anything that they know or wish to learn here so that we can all combine our knowledge of the land and pass on what we have learned. Let us not forget what has shaped the land that we live in today.

First off. What has become a very interesting story for me is the story of Pagea, for all those who dont know the story here is what I have learned.

Pagea was a city of learning and diplomacy and lived in relative peaceful times until the arrival of a Nameless Grey Sorcerer. For 3 centuries Pagea had lived in peaceful times and the defences of the city had grown non existent. The Grey sorcerer filled with a hunger for power saw this weakness and decided to take his chance and take over from the council. The Grey Sorcerer picked the time when the council's leader Timmin, a powerful Mystic, was absent from the city and attacked the council of Pagea. After a short battle the Grey Sorcerer proclaimed to all that he was the new leader of Pagea. When Mystic Timmin realised what had happened he raced to this city in order to confront the Grey Sorcerer. The Grey Sorcerer watched Timmin approach the city through a seeing stone and as Timmin approached the gate the Grey Sorcerer stepped out from the council chambers to meet his enemy and show his power was the better of the two. The battle of the minds commenced, Mystic verses Sorcerer. All day the battle ensued and the result was revealed at the dawn of night. At the gates stood a very weary Timmin while the Grey Sorcerer had vanished into the night. All thought that Timmin was victor and that the Grey Sorcerer was no more but Timmin knew better and regained his power waiting for the Grey Sorcerer to make his next move. The Grey Sorcerer filled with hate a vengeance vowed he would destroy all who stood in his way so he hid him self in a near by forest of Bedillam and abided for a while in the beauty and peace of the woods and plotted his next move. It was here in the peace of the woods that his anger grew. He despised the beauty of the woods and the life that flourished within and decided that he would harness the power of the woods by draining all the energy and life from it and turn it on the city of Pagea. The Grey Sorcerer used the power of Elementalism to raise the waters of Callieton and send them against the wall of Pagea. The council of the city realizing that they could not stand against such power abandoned the city walls as the wave of waters crashed in upon this once great city. Pagea was gone and in its place now stood the lake we know as Lake Thrullmere. The citizens of this once great city started up new settlements on the banks of this lake, Ariadne and Krempton, and time moved on. What became of the Grey Sorcerer is unknown, but to this day the forest of Bedillam retains its greyish hue from being sapped of life by long-forgotten sorcery

From my travels I have found a quest to get a Knocker of Bedillam and throw it into the lake of Thrullmere to receive a jewel. I was once told that the city could be raised from the lake, if this is true or not I don’t know. I would appreciate if any could shed any light on this subject. I don’t know if there is anything else that needs to be done with the jewel once it is taken from the lake or if it serves another purpose. I would love if any have more information on this Nameless Sorcerer and what happened to him. I hope someone can shed some light on this subject.

History, Myths and Legends. Empty Re: History, Myths and Legends.

I have been really interested in a lot of the stories about lands of the path, Pagea, Illmareal, and Gant.

I have been escorted by a deity to Pagea, as well as Gant, and they are both very beautiful places. As for being able to get to them by mortal means, I am unsure...

I believe the Count in the Manor in Bedillam Forest has something to do with getting to Pagea, although I could be completely wrong in my thinking. I'd say the knocker, also, has something to do with it. Also, if you go to the location on the misty lake Thrullmere, you will see a very curious steeple.

There is a location not too far off the river jetties of Parrius, called "Beneath the Bridge of Gant". I can't even begin to count how many times I've pondered all possibly ways to get to Gant from there, but I have yet to find anything interesting.

Also, a slightly interesting development, although I have no idea if it even leads to anything -- I wanted to go mining up in the northern reaches of Avalon, near Archangel. Unfortunately, someone had already beat me there, but being my curious self, I started trying to excavate mines in random directions. Low and behold, I excavated north and discovered a secret entrance. As far as I know, I am the first person to find it, however it appears to close up after a certain amount of time. The problem with it is, like up in the eaves of the oakwood forest, when you try to enter the location, the might of the Gods pushes you straight back to the pool. I was not happy to discover that at all, so I did some stealthy moves and ran in as far as I could go and back out before it kicked me back to the pool... Here is the text:

You swing your pickaxe against the sparkling rockface and brace yourself for a
firm strike against the rock. Instead, however, the rockface shatters like
fine china tumbling against flagstones. Your humble strike has revealed a
hidden entrance north into a dark, pebble-strewn cave.

Small cave.
The sky about you is alive with the day-time. You have stumbled into a small,
innocuous looking cave at the foot of the northern mountains. Natural light
streams in from the opening to the south, through which you espy a glittering
open-cave - its walls sparkling with a tincturing of semi-precious stones.
The cave itself is unspectacular, the floor strewn with pebbles and broken
rocks, and the faint scurrying of rodent life. A cold breath of air rushes
past you from the northeast end of the cave - the only part of the to be
completely obscured by the shadows. A musty, damp odour hangs in the air.
Flurries of thick snow issue from the clouded heavens above.

Passage at the rear of the cave.
The sky about you is alive with the day-time. You are forced to bend your neck
to avoid cracking your head against the ceiling of this low-ceilinged passage
cut into the mountains. Your surrounds are dark and unwelcoming, though to
the southwest, the illusionary rockface shimmers slightly to afford a glimpse
of the small cave beyond. Northwards the passage climbs gently and, some five
yards away, you discern a smooth, man-hewn rockface bars the possibility of
further progress into the mountain. Flurries of thick snow issue from the
clouded heavens above.

And then if you're too slow...
You are blinded by a sudden light too great for your feeble eyes and feel
yourself thrown bodily back away from the lap of the gods.

Judging by Gant's help file, I think this is the entrance.

HELP GANT
Gant is a seldom-seen, perhaps mythical city hidden away in the northern
mountains. Few have past its gates and lived to tell the tale.

Will post any further findings on this...

**Update**
This IS in fact the entrance to Gant.
Also learned you cannot open it unless you are a citizen of Gant, so there went that idea.

I found that secret location north of the mine while I was up there a week or so ago mining. I was wondering if the whole "Few have past its gates and lived to tell the tale" does this hint at the living may not enter the gateway? I will ponder more on this.

Ok I gave that secret location another go and tried a few things on it. I found that there was a location ne once you go in north and if you were fast enough you could pass into that location without being sent to the pool. All I found in there was a dead end and could not get anything more. But there has to be something. I will keep checking.

Yeah, pretty sure that is where the opening of Gant is. I was told that you need to be a citizen to open it though, so...

Well, Read through this stuff and found this to be some very interesting information. Thorongil I know you said you were going to look into the rumors of Bezejeth and see what are true and are not. Still waiting on that information, grin. Anywas, keep up the good work.

Hey all, I have a bit of information I can share from other realm experience *cough*.

Regarding Gant - currently in legends Gant is used as an off continent area for deities to punish mortals. There is no active or working way in or out save for a deity granting you either of these, the area is more of a place to hold divine meetings where no one can interrupt.

Knocker of bedillam can be thrown into the lake to make the jewel which can either be sold or can be used to summon a demon. In my experience these are its only 2 purposes.

Pagea I'm not as sure about but Genesis once told me it used to be accessible to mortals but has been 'closed for refurbishment' as it were. SO whether that means it'll be one day open again I cannot say.
