Here's how it goes!

I'm am a poet and lyricist. I want....the top 3 poems or lyrics for Avalon....include events, names, and such if you wish!

All entries will need to be turned in as a reply to this topic. You will have until the midnight CST on the last day of May to post them. Then myself and one other carefully selected judge, will judge them, determing our top three and I will award the prizes.

3rd place: 100 gold
2nd place: 300 gold
1st place: 500 gold and a random assortment of herbs and poisons.

You can find me in game as either Phaera or Briella (who was Maerad). This is an out of character contest with in character rewards, so it must not be talked about in game.

Here is Attempt 1 at my submission.

A long, long time ago
In a realm far away
Mercinae was under an attack
And I thought me and Ag-ar-wain
Could talk the Thakrians in-
To maybe cutting them a little slack
But their response, it didn't thrill us
They locked the doors and tried to kill us
We escaped from that fast
Then met Teresa from past
We stole a sword from the scene
And we went to Parrius to gather a team
We all wound up on a furglewort dream.
That's when, we left Mercinae, to die.

Let Avalon Glow

May Avalon glow with each passionate breath,
Be it dark, light, or a touch of all,
In destruction, creation, death or life,
May each soul be imbued in the earth itself.

Thakria of the west, city of miracles,
Will you rise to the truth of your name?
Or will you shroud yourself in darkness only deeper,
Burning, jealous eyes turned to the land.
Let those flames soar into the sky,
Until you fly above the Gods themselves.

Mercinae, city of light, of old,
Unbreakable within your walls of truth.
Will you close your gates from change,
Or will you keep them open wide,
Welcoming each to morals and kindness.
Let your gates be thrown aside,
Let your light brighten all of Avalon.

Parrius, pirates and free souls,
Great wanderers in your own right.
Will you each cling to independence too far,
Becoming alone in your own city?
No - Sail the sea and walk the lands
Until you never see the sun set again.

With this problem, we don’t see eye to eye. Yeah…

She wears lace and she wears flannel.
She watches everyone, people are like a TV Channel.
What's that bulge under her nightie?
It must be “her-maph-ro-di-te”.

Yeah, Hermaphrodite yeah…

Hermaphrodite is luck,
Hermaphrodite is chance.
people give up,
Its the goddess of veng-ance

She is still beautiful, she is still fine.
It's too bad her package is bigger than mine.Yeah…

She can't help her imperfections,
She gets angry and gives me infections.

there was once a man named Serethipas,
known throughout the lands
to be quite an ass

he kills your poor eagles
and tutors
and peoples
but when the Pryrates comes he still runs too fast

more balls than any other man
he makes love to his hand
while he fights off his peers
in twos and threes

There was and still is a man named Dante!
Known throught the lands for his love of ass!
He rides upon an eagle, and tutors the people!
He's better than Pryrates who comes too fast!

More worn balls than any other man!
Never needs to make love to his hand!
Always demanded by his peers
From cities in twos and threes.

(I'm not sure if this even rhymes - What do you rate my poetic skills?)
