Wrote this for legends, but everything is the same here. Enjoy.

Javalon Mini-Guide

Javalon is a great way for young fighters to get started in this land. It can actually do some complex sorts of commands, it just takes a little creativity.

Macros are essentially shortcuts that you save in the internal memory of Avalon. For example, instead of typing out which potion and potion number to sip, you have the command saved, and you just type a number. It’s faster and easier, and much more practical in the heat of battle.

* * *

The basic command – SM

SM stands for set macro. It is how you make a macro. Typing M shows a list of all macros you have set.

Eg. SM 1 point amulet123
This translates to set macro 1 to the command point amulet number 123. Whenever you type the number 1, Avalon will point amulet123, and the magic spell in the amulet will go off. If the amulet is charged with the magical spell of pentacle, for example, you will conjur up a pentacle of protection every time you enter 1.

* * *

Chaining commands - ::

To put multiple commands together in one macro, you insert two colons ( :: ) between each command. This just tells Avalon that it is a new command to be sent.

Eg. SM 2 light pipe123::smoke pipe123
This translates to set macro 2 to the command light pipe123 and then smoke pipe123. Every time you type 2, you will light and then smoke that pipe.

* * *

Targetting/Variables - !

A variable is a part of the macro that can change. If you put a variable inside a macro, you can change it later, without changing the macro. This is useful for setting targets; you can make one macro to attack and then change the variable the spell or attack hits depending on who you are fighting. A variable is indicated by ! followed by the number you wish to assign the variable (from 1 to 9). Typing T will show a list of all variables you have set.

Eg. SM 3 jab !1
This translates to set macro 3 to the command jab target 1. ! means target and 1 is the target number.

Eg TT orc
This translates to target orc. Target 1 is the default target. Now, every time you type 3, you will jab at an orc.

Eg SM 4 chant handburn::cast !2
This translates to set macro 4 to the command chant handburn and then cast that spell at target 2.

Eg. ST 2 narissa
This translates to set target 2 to narissa. Every time you type 4, you will then handburn Narissa.

Now for the fun part…

Using all these commands, you can do some fairly intricate things. What follows are some examples of more complex things you can do with javalon, for two skillsets.

Some useful knight settings

SM 1 get !2::get !3::wield !2 right::wield !3 left
ST 2 sword1234
ST 3 sword5678
This macro just picks up your swords and wields them. Very useful to have and to do quickly. Set targets 2 and 3 to your swords.

SM 2 sr::jab !1::sl::jab !1::parry left
TT orc
This macro uses the skill of duality to hit your opponent (the orc) twice in one balance. It then attempts to parry any blows they send at you.

SM 3 outp !4::outp !5::rub !4 on !2::rub !5 on !3::inp !4::inp !5
ST 4 wyg
ST 5 yake
This macro takes two poisons (wyg and yake) from your herb pouch and rubs them on your swords. It then inpouches them at the end, just in case you aren’t holding your swords.

SM 4 outp !4::outp !5::rub !4 on !2::rub !5 on !3::inp !4::inp !5::2
This macro is the same as above, except it adds in a jab jab at your target (macro #2). You end up rubbing poisons on your sword and then jabbing your target.

SM 5 ST 4 jegga::ST 5 kaskamak::4
SM 6 ST 4 grimleaf::ST 5 grimleaf::4
SM 7 ST 4 mandrake::ST 5 mandrake:4
Etc
This is just a fast way to make macros that rub preset poison combos on your blades and then jab your target. Typing 5 will hit them with jegga and kaskamak, while typing 7 will hit them with double mandrake.

Some useful macros for a thief/ranger

SM 3 outp !3::spit !3 at !1::inp !3
ST 3 grimleaf
TT narissa
This just sets an alias to outp and spit the poison you have set the variable to (grimleaf) at your target (narissa)

SM 4 outp !3::rub !3 on !2::inp !3
ST 2 knife1234
ST 3 grimleaf
This outpouches the poison and rubs it on your knife.

SM 5 stab !1
SM 6 outp !3::rub !3 on !2::inp !3::3
This rubs the poison on your knife and then stabs the target.

SM 7 outp !3::rub !3 on arrows::shoot !1 !7
ST 7 north
This rubs a poison on your arrow and shoots it at someone, either in your direction or in a direction you set

SM 30 st 3 grimleaf::1
SM 31 st 3 mandrake::1
SM 32 st 3 nann::1
This sets the poison and then spits it at the person.

SM 20 st 3 grimleaf::4
SM 21 st 3 mandrake::4
SM 22 st 4 nann::4
Same idea with above, this rubs poison on a knife and then stabs your target.

Some useful tips

Group your macros in easy to remember groups. Make all your potions macros 20-40, and all your charming 41-50. Something that will make the numbers easier to remember for you.

When using more complex variables, sort it out so you can remember and change them easier. For example, make your basic spit macro number 3, and then all your different poison spits, numbers 30-39. Make the poison variable number 3. That was you will remember that 3 is your spit set up.

Write it down! Have a chart of what numbers stand for what, this will help you memorize it all.
