With what little time I have spent in Avalon, I have learned many great things about my character, and about those whom I am with. Those of you who have fought me and those who have seen me fight know that I need to work on speed in a fight. I have also learned that I rely on things that make it easier for me, but shouldn't be relying on as they keep me from perfecting other, more essential things. Once I perfect my skills I should be able to do better at everyday things such as fighting, healing, and talking with friends. It is fairly easy to make friends while in Avalon, and it is even easier to make enemies. There are some within Avalon that I consider both. As strange as that may seem, I have enjoyed many conversations with one such individual. Oh, we enjoy our fights, I have learned many things from him alone.
I try to tell all of our younglings that they need to always be prepared as not all fights happen with a challenge or a duel. On many occasions I have been jumped very unprepared, with only my default defenses up. To the younglings who may be reading this I say: Being unprepared is the one of the quickest ways to die. Although you shouldn't be afraid to die, it behooves you to make yourself harder to kill so that you still have a chance to kill your opponent. I am by no means an expert fighter. I just pass along to you what has been passed along to me. There are some out in this world that have fun by making sure you die. What they may, or may not, realize is that they are teaching you, and in many cases stoking a fire under your rear. Because of some of these people I make it my goal to get stronger, better, and faster in combat so that I may defeat them. It is an excellent goal to have. Now, some of them I may never be able to defeat, only time can tell. However, I will do My best to try.
I was with some friends one day and was blessed with a visit from Lord Diomedes, God of War. I was telling him of an honour quest I was on and told him I was having a difficult time of it. What he said, and didn't say, is something I believe to this very day. He told me that some quests are near impossible to complete. What he didn't have to say was that if I didn't try to do it I would never know if it can be done. This statement is true for many things. Some fights are impossible for you to win. However, if you don't try to do it then you don't know. We have to learn by doing in this world. You learn your strengths and weakness' by fighting, not by sitting idle for days on end (guilty as charged, your honor).
